Born and raised in Hong Kong, then educated in the UK, founder Adam Raby was working in advertising and sports apparel, when he observed that Asia offers no representation of men's swimwear, and thus Māzú Resortwear was born.
Hong Kong has always had an intimate relationship with the sea – local fishermen, distant travelers, and avid sailors have all respected the waters that hug the verdant hills of its coastline. A true blend of tradition and modernity, Māzú Resortwear pays homage to the city's rich maritime history, incorporating traditional colors, local motifs, such as junk boats, and upcycled ocean plastic fabric to create Asia-inspired resort wear.
Māzú Resortwear's fabrication has an extremely soft-to-touch hand feel with a durability and texture of a luxury product, while aglets are handcrafted and gilded to resemble a traditional monkey fist knot. The double needle stitching and point d'arrêt finish indicate that the construction of each pair has been done with such effort as to ensure that the shorts not only look great from the outside, but also look and feel great on the inside.
Māzú Resortwear's luxury hotel and resort collaborations include Aman, COMO, Potato Head, Shangri La, St Regis, the Surin, Alila, Wynn, the Datai, the Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, and MGM Grand.
