Growing up in an Asian household meant tea was a staple. One familiar scent that always wafted through Jacqueline's home was her mother's favorite oolong tea. As the scent is a source of comfort for Jacqueline, she worked for months to craft a blend to be diffused through her soy candles. The result is her Black Tea & Clove candle, which has the earthy scent of oolong tea mixed with the subtle spice of clove. The scent is both warming and invigorating and is labeled as a cult favorite among her customers.

The Background of the Oyasumi Scents' Fragrances
When first experimenting with candle-making, Jacqueline was shocked to learn adding pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils could be toxic due to the oils' low flashpoints. She further experienced this toxicity when she lit a candle with pure essential oils, only to experience headaches and vomiting. With research, she learned the essential oils used in candles are actually stabilized compounds. However, Jacqueline wasn't pleased with the commercially available fragrances and found them artificial-smelling. Now, she only works with fragrance makers to craft bespoke fragrances while ensuring all oils are made with stabilized essential oils and natural ingredients.
Cracks and rough surfaces are common in products with pure, soy wax and should not be considered as flaws. As these are hand-made items, expect some irregularities in each candle.
