A dreamy celadon 20cm side plate beautifully handmade in Jingdezhen. Perfect for bread, for breakfast, dessert or as a sharing plate. Each piece is made by hand, meaning that small differences in color and shape can occur. These differences are not considered flaws but add to the character of the plate.
Each plate in the Song collection is unique – rather than being mass produced, they are hand-carved in a family-run workshop in Jingdezhen, China, where “flaws” become badges of honor, to be flaunted as marks of exclusivity. Each piece displays a variation on the theme of the charger’s all-encompassing forest, telling a story in celadon glaze. The pattern itself plays off the artistic concerns of the Song dynasty, defined by humans’ interaction with nature and echoing Latitude 22N’s ideals of a simple, contemporary, and natural representation of life.
