The Bakfeong stool reflects the culture and material from traditional Thai furniture but updated for modern decoration. Its design is similar to the 6 V-shaped facets of a Starfruit. This cutting pattern is designed taking into consideration the constraints of the reed material which is made with a small loom.
Each item is made to order and handmade by a specific individual artisan.

Reed mat was traditionally used in the Far East province of Thailand where the "window" pattern was developed by the local community. Sumphat Gallery matches this pattern with a new color palette that is suitable for today's modern living space. Reed mat is durable and often used as a protective lining, helping to extend the lifetime of furniture.
