Crane Incense Holder
This vase was painted by Chinese artist Peng Bo, who gave the crane's hair and scales a three-dimensional rendering using dots of glaze. The meticulous and smooth outlining makes the birds come alive on the porcelain. The vivid underglaze coloring gives a sense of vitality to the imagery.
Peng Bo, who graduated from Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in 2010, has developed his own distinctive illustration style that features subjects in a personal and recognizable manner.
