A mix of statement pieces and inspired decorative accents were brought together in an exquisite ensemble at our booth at FIND Design Fair Asia in September 2022.

From September 22-24, Vermillion was one of the exhibitors at the FIND Design Fair Asia, an immersive 3-day furniture, design, and interiors event showcasing the latest design trends and over 250 leading brands. For our very first trade show in the region, we collaborated with 33 of our brand partners to put together an exquisite showcase of the most inspired Asian designs.

Adorned with LALA CURIO’s Fern Folliage Embellished Hand-Painted Wallpaper, the open-format booth showcased vignettes under two broad themes: “Modern Heritage” and “Urban Vibrancy”. Each zone was punctuated with several vignettes that highlighted the wide range of products offered on our platform. From a fully stacked bar cart to an inviting corner featuring a chair inspired by the Chinese counting frame, the abacus, the exhibit was aimed at not only introducing our spanning collection to existing and potential buyers but also letting them experience the value Asian design could add to their homes and office spaces.

In the Modern Heritage zone, the Abacus Chair by SUYAB Furniture was paired with GY Design Studio’s Petal Side Table and cleverclaire’s Technocolor Side Table, each adorned with decorative accents and tableware from the most coveted heritage brands. The living space vignette was brought to life with Tai Ping CarpetsFlybird I inspired by the beauty of nature.

This zone also flaunted an installation of statement vases by Mooyee, DUYIYAO, and Nousaku displayed in front of Hilde MertensSeal Script, a modern interpretation of the ancient art of Chinese calligraphy. Each piece from this vignette highlighted how traditional techniques and art forms can be re-interpreted for contemporary consumers while still retaining their cultural value.

The highlight of the Urban Vibrancy zone, SCENE SHANG’s Xuan Table stood tall surrounded by Jia Ju Rocking Stools by the Singapore-based brand along with two Skateboard Chairs by The Eighteen Studio. Atop the table, a collection of tableware, tea accessories, and decorative objects were displayed. From a striking Ceramic Peony Sculpture by Leo Wong to the handcrafted Sui Xing Tea Set by Letii Design, the ensemble brought together tradition and contemporaneity in a poetic setting.

On the other side of ipse ipsa ipsum’s bone inlay console that divided the two zones, was the Stamford Rattan Trolley adorned with glassware from MU16, 5IVE SIS, and more. The Resonance Speaker by Delta Blues Audio played some atmospheric tunes while candles by Oyasumi Scents emitted inviting fragrances. The bar vignette was made complete with Fauzal Yusri’s striking abstract artwork, Horizon Dream 1 from the collection of The Art People Gallery

The first edition of the FIND Design Fair Asia, a space designed for a global exchange of ideas, saw more that 5000 trade visitors through the 3-day period with a number of established interior designers, architects, design association members, and creatives from Singapore and beyond. “We loved telling the stories of our amazing brand partners to specifiers and design enthusiasts attending FIND. The response was incredibly encouraging – there is a real appreciation for ‘modern heirlooms’ and objects with meaning, which is our passion at Vermillion,” summed up Amy Long, Vermillion’s General Manager for APAC Ex-China.
