One of the most widely grown crops across Thailand, cassava farming always ends with an excessive supply of the crop, often contributing to waste and pollution. Eqologist offers a strong vision in bringing a new material that is both environmentally friendly and creates value to the Thai agriculture industry. Anon’s passion is the upgrade of cassava as a design material with aesthetic value.
After cassava is processed in a high-pressure vacuum, Eqologist leverages its solid fiber structure, which becomes rigid yet lightweight with an interesting translucence, to create unique light fixtures. The pentagon form of the lamps not only represents a strengthened structure but also reflects the shape of the cassava leaf, its inspiration.
Cassava is a natural material that does not secrete toxins and can be 100% recycled. Under suitable conditions, cassava will naturally decompose within 2-3 weeks.
