ZARATE MANILA was established in the Philippines in 2015 and today is a proudly Filipino retail lifestyle brand. Founded by Jim Zarate-Torres, the main focus of his designs is to disrupt the limitation of simplicity - to redefine and push the boundaries of perception and composition. With his passion for furniture design, art and objects, he takes a graphic, structured or architectural approach. Most of his concepts are defined by a reference to something - infused with design codes that are translated differently - elevating, reworking, and reconstructing the original to a more contemporary, imaginative, and vibrant aesthetic.

Zarate exemplifies bold, progressive ideals with a textural aesthetic. Seeking inspiration through the art of crafting unforeseen notions, the studio searches for a balance between minimalism and traditional crafting. From subtle detail to bold signature elements, the brand is infused with seamless design discipline in each handcrafted piece. These factors are expressed in a range of furniture, lighting, and home accessories that are used in everyday living.

ZeroYet100 is founded on the principle that natural is better. Their products are formulated with ingredients derived from nature with potent innate properties.

Their line of gender-neutral products is free of toxic and harmful chemicals and their ingredient list is transparent and pure. All of their natural products are formulated at their workshop in Hong Kong and personally tested by the co-founders, Anita Patel and Sheetal Avlani, to achieve a more, if not the most, effective product in its range. The handcrafted products are then housed in recyclable or up-cyclable packaging and labeled with only lamination-free and plastic-free paper product stickers.

ZeroYet100 products are suitable for children, to-be-moms, already grandparents, and everyone in the family.

Mitsunori Yamase, the mind behind ZIKICO, conceptualized the brand when he noticed that the metallic odor of spoons, caused by the decomposition of lipids by oxidizing reaction of metal, often hide the flavor of the food. He realized that food was much more flavorful when consumed directly from the dish without a spoon. He was determined to produce an alternative material that was durable and did not compromise the taste of the food. ZIKICO, with its exquisite zirconia cutlery, aims to allow people to savor the real taste of food.

Zirconia is a type of ceramic made from minerals, offering 3 properties ideal for cutlery: made from 2 types of crystals nearly as hard as diamond or ruby, with an even balance of metal-like hardness and suppleness, made by sintering at high temperatures. Like pottery, zirconia does not release metal ions, and is thus hypoallergenic. The zirconia processing technology is a combination of the technology of plastics, a mass production technology, and the art of ceramic. ZIKICO's unique industrial powder injection molding and shaping process yields products with consistently beautiful lines, while to achieve surface perfection, each piece is then hand-finished by expert artisans.

In 2017, ZIKICO's zirconia soup spoon won the Good Design Award. In 2018, ZIKICO received the JIDA Design Museum Selection Award. In 2019, ZIKICO won both the iF Design Award and Gold A' Design Award 2019 for the SUMU Cutlery Series.

Zoe Siu graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a degree in fashion design in 2007. Migrating into accessories design from a background in denim at DKNY Jeans and Levi’s, she threw herself in developing knotting skills.

In 2011, Zoe decided to establish her own brand of modern sophisticated accessories with ZO-EE. Her designs ingeniously play with knotting and handcrafted rope work techniques, blending colored strings, ropes, and metals. She transforms conventional materials into high-quality artful pieces. Fusing contemporary forms with craftsman-like details, Zoe’s designs evoke an interesting clash between traditional and modern elements.

Zoe is passionate about promoting the art of knotting. She has been invited to organize workshops by renowned brands like Thomas Sabo, Mikimoto, and Marimekko.
