  1. Camel
Camel Hong Kong, China | Homeware

Camel, previously known as Wei Yit Vacuum Flask Mfy Ltd., was founded by the Leung family in 1940. Today, Camel is one of the oldest manufacturers of vacuum flasks and metalware in Hong Kong. Formerly ubiquitous around the city’s department stores, hardware shops, and F&B outlets, Camel is a true Hong Kong heritage brand.

In 1964, Camel became the first in Hong Kong to adopt 18/8 stainless steel to make double layer insulated containers, mainly supplied to hotels and caterers. During the 70s, on top of existing Southeast Asian business, Camel expanded to the US and European markets, working with local manufacturers and customizing for regional needs. In the early 80s, as production was facing a bottleneck, a larger factory in Kowloon Bay was built. Today, it stands tall as the Camlux Hotel. With China’s production power taking over the work in the 90s, Camel had to reposition their products in a saturated market.

The brand’s story mirrors Hong Kong through war, financial crises, and political uncertainties, reviving their vintage designs with time, while innovating with new technologies in order to better serve modern day lifestyle needs.

  2. Ceramication
    Ceramication Singapore | Homeware

Rayn Leow began his journey into the world of ceramics while seeking an outlet for his creativity during his service in the army. He then joined his family’s construction business, where he picked up Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and additive manufacturing (3D printing). Intrigued by the possibilities of combining these skills with his passion for ceramics, Rayn embarked on a personal journey of self-fulfilment.

Rayn believes that the key to realizing his artistic vision is in welding control over his medium. Calling on his experience in laboratory research, he conducted thousands of material tests to create a working system of complementary clay bodies and glazes over a span of four years.

His overwhelming love of ceramics eventually led him to leave the security of his family business to build his own brand. Rayn launched Ceramication, a boutique porcelain studio, in August 2020. From the molds and forms to the clay bodies and glazes, all formulations and processes are laboriously designed and made in Singapore. Using only the finest minerals sourced from around the world, every individual piece passes through the hands of the artist numerous times, giving them their unique signature of handmade studio ceramics.

Through Ceramication, Rayn hopes to inspire others to choose their own path of happiness through self-discovery and liberation from living up to others’ expectations.

  6. Chris Chun
    Chris Chun Australia | Art
Chris Chun is known for his work in contemporary chinoiserie, a distinctly modern twist on traditional Chinese art that combines vibrant colors and patterns with his love of nature and the environment.

An Australian artist with Chinese heritage, Chris creates originals and limited edition prints that are snapped up by collectors who have coined his style 'Chunoiserie' and affectionately refer to themselves as 'Chunistas'. Chris has a profound connection with nature and uses sustainable materials wherever possible. His incorporation of visual storytelling and symbolism result in an emotional connection with buyers who appreciate the meaning in each piece and want to own a piece of ‘everyday beauty’.

“People tell me that they love the sense of discovery they have for months – sometimes years – after they first see my art. There are hidden details and symbols they eventually notice in the piece, often only when they’re ready to see the meaning behind it," shares the artist. Ultimately, it’s Chris’s unique combination of vivid colors, patterns, and symbolic imagery that sets his work apart. His paintings reflect an inherent joy and harmony – the beauty of nature with all its infinite charms.

  7. cleverclaire
    cleverclaire South Korea | Furniture

cleverclaire (or Sul Heekyoung) focuses on generating aesthetic pleasure by applying diverse color combinations to furniture and other objects. The artist composes varied tonal superpositions, at times by using the fluidity and transparency of resin to overlap layers of colors, and other times by solidifying the colors as they flow.

In her practice, cleverclaire looks for inspiration in the harmony of colors in nature, like in the ever-changing colors of time, seasons, and geological sections. The artist feels that chance encounters with the colors of nature act to purify her mind and to enrich her emotions throughout the complexities of daily life. This is what cleverclaire projects into her pieces, in the hopes that positive energy will be transmitted to the audience through her work.

Cosmos And Harmony Thailand | Wellness

Thailand’s natural personal care brand COSMOS & HARMONY was born out of founder Arunee Atipapong's curiosity for seeking the wonderful elements in nature, and building a powerful narrative around her famous village culture of Thai rice soap.

Arunee designed her signature collections around Thailand’s most celebrated traditions, such as the Thai New Year’s Songkran Water Festival based on its popular scent of “Nam Ob Thai”, “Kick Boxing” with cool, refreshing soap to jumpstart one’s day or after one’s workout, as well as “Thai Massage” that brings a warming effect to relax muscles and tendons, “Thai Kitchen” collection leverages Thai culinary herbs and spices in blends with organic essential oils.

Arunee draws from three core varieties of Thai rice - jasmine rice, red rice and rice berry – across her Khao Thai Rice Soap Collection. To create her organic black glutinous rice shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, and body lotions, Arunee explains, “Black glutinous rice contains the highest amount of anthocyanin compared to other kinds of rice.
